Parent Partnership

Our aims and vision at Gilbert Colvin can only be achieved through the support and co-operation of parents.
We are keen to encourage parents to become more involved in our events and activities and we welcome as many of you as possible to get involved with the Parents' Association.

We aim to keep you fully informed about the school through our website, by updating it with the latest information and news.

Important and urgent messages are usually displayed on the Home page, and other parent information should be found within this Parents section.

OpenCheck & ParentComms

OpenCheck is a service that enables you to check if the school is open in case of emergency, severe weather, any news or other circumstances which may affect child's ability to attend or access the school. (We would of course notify you by text if we need to close the school).

The app offers a free UK-based service to help parents stay connected with their children’s schools.
All parents can access the OpenCheck service and subscribe to an information feed from their children’s school(s)
Subscribing to OpenCheck will result in automatic notifications if a school needs to close in an emergency
Users can easily check scheduled school closures for holidays and training days

The ParentComms app is available for Android, iPhone and Windows although not all features are available on all devices.
