Welcome to our new Travel Page
At Gilbert Colvin Primary School we want to encourage children to actively travel to and from school. Walking, cycling or scooting are not only beneficial for children's physical well-being but are also safer, greener, more sustainable methods of travel.
Active modes of travel reduce parking and congestion outside the school at the beginning and end of the school day which allows children to develop an understanding of road safety and knowing safe places to cross.
We are aiming for as many children as possible to walk, cycle or scoot to school at least three times a week.
We have introduced Junior Travel Ambassadors (JTA's) to encourage everyone to record their trip to school on Travel Tracker in class. They will also help with any competitions and provide updates/informationfrom the Road Safety Team.
There are badges and class trophies to win at the end of every month!
Ms Patel is leading the project so if you have any great ideas which you think will help us, please contact Ms Patel or Mr Wilson (who is in charge of cycling).
